okay, i've recently discovered, (upon going to camp) that at XC camp, you do alot besides run. i know, i know... duh!!!!! but i'm a newb, just cut me some slack ok? had a blonde moment...

so anyway, i went to lecture, inspirational talks, a yoga class, drills and stretching, core workouts, kayaking!... and ladies and gentlemen... i took ice baths!

what? you don't know what an ice bath is? well, its very simple... just take your hand and slap yourself in the face. HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW WHAT AN ICE BATH IS?!!??!! and you call yourself a runner...

an ice bath is where you fill a garbage can with extremely cold water and as much ice as you can find, then you stand in it for at least 10 minutes. now at camp you could fit two people two a can (comfortably) if you felt brave... you could fit three people to a can. (uncomfortably) so guys came home from camp with stories of how they were shirtless,   sandwiched between two girls in sports bras in a garbage can for ten minutes.... what? okay okay i did share an ice bath with two guys while in a sports bra... but it was only ONE TIME! they were actually pretty decent guys.

now trivia night... that was an odd event. every cabin dressed up. we? we were supper runners. bright neon sport bras, black shorts, towel capes, paper wings taped to our ankles, and superman S's drawn with eyeliner on our stomachs. needless to say, we didn't win. the flys did. but the trivia game was fun and we got third (third doesn't win anything, first and second does)

and the dance... well... you see... ok it was like...

OK! i will describe it as this, one of the counselor's who played chaperone that night mentioned that when she got the nerve to venture to the middle of the dance floor, she had to leave because of the smell. the dancefloor smelled, in her own words, like very sinful things ;)

so all and all, camp is mostly about running, and its prolly the best part of camp. but trust me, there's more than meets the eye.
